Mining History Imsbach

Eingang Imsbach

The Mine for Visitors is placed at the bottom of Donnersberg in Langental near by Imsbach.

A legend says that a nobleman, who was digging for silvernuggets, was accursed by earth ghosts and had to live from now as a stag. He had to live so long until a hunter would shoot him by silverbullet.

Another legend says: The cottage of a poor charcoal burner was demolished by lightning. In the crater, witch was risen by the lightning, the poor man found a silver mine, and from now on he was a rich man.

The last story may be the truest. In this region we find about 60 minerals; by this silver and copper.

The mining was stopped 1921.
